English description provided by the architects.
Arcipressi is an architectural residence nestled in the green heart of Florence, a portion of a historic villa that has undergone a careful renovation aimed at restoring a timeless elegance to the spaces, in harmony with the surrounding landscape.
The architecture is distinguished by its quiet and refined language, capable of engaging in dialogue with nature through generous openings that frame views of centuries-old trees and lush gardens.
The project originates from a deep dialogue between the architects and the clients: a couple with a daughter, connected not only by a shared vision of living, but also by a strong sensitivity to sustainability, which is an integral part of both their personal and professional lives.
In particular, she works as a sustainability consultant in the fashion industry, bringing to the project a conscious focus on environmental impact, material quality, and responsible processes.
The house is set within a privileged context: surrounded by greenery yet just a short walk from Florence's historic city center.
This rare condition informed the entire architectural approach, conceived as an intimate family retreat capable of reconciling nature and city life, tranquility and urban vitality.
The spaces were designed to foster a seamless continuity between interior and exterior:
large openings, garden views, and a constant relationship with the landscape transform the green surroundings into a true extension of the living space.
The house thus becomes a place of balance, where architecture, sustainability, and everyday life merge naturally, offering the family an authentic, welcoming environment deeply connected to its context.
The interiors, warm and enveloping, are defined by formal clarity that enhances the quality of the materials and the mastery of artisanal craftsmanship.
Every piece of furniture was custom-designed and handcrafted by local craftsmen, creating a unique environment where tradition and contemporaneity blend in perfect balance.
Natural light gently filters through the rooms, caressing textured surfaces and tailored details, while the greenery outside becomes an integral part of the home, imparting a sense of calm and well-being.
A project in which living becomes an intimate and sophisticated experience, respectful of the history and beauty of the place.
