Nestled in the wilderness beside Zhouluo Grand Canyon in Liuyang, Yunxi Valley is embraced by mountains, valleys and woods with a mild and inclusive vibe.

In modern life, people drift away from nature and lose the perception of authentic life. We hold reverence for nature instead of reshaping the land. The buildings grow naturally along the terrain just like local plants.

Old houses are renovated to preserve memories, and new spaces are built to comfort souls. Architecture is integrated into the land. Life ever-flourishing means growing peacefully alongside nature, rather than reckless expansion.

The buildings are arranged along mountain contour lines like vines on slopes. We avoid large-scale excavation.

With elevated structures, point foundations and terraced platforms, the original terrain, soil and ecology are well protected. The architecture breathes in harmony with mountains, achieving in-depth symbiosis between human and land.

We connect all functional areas with a weaving strategy, forming a harmonious contrast between old and new buildings. Indoor and outdoor boundaries are blurred.

Doors and windows serve as interfaces linking humans and nature. Transparent materials bring breeze, light and scenery indoors, making the whole complex a vivid and breathable community.

The old house acts as the growth ring of time on the site. We retain the original structure of ancient buildings and add new spaces on the old foundation to blend old and new textures.

Historic buildings carry local cultural memories, and new spaces continue daily life. The past and present integrate here, forming livable marks of time.

The texture of life lies in seasonal changes and spatial atmosphere. The courtyard presents different views all year round, and architectural structures adapt to local climate.

The restaurant creates a warm atmosphere of returning home. Materials, light and layout build warm scenes, allowing people to feel the true texture of life.

This site is a dwelling where vital energy flows freely. The design hides gently amid mountains and rivers. "Life" refers to a dynamic process where buildings grow in compliance with the terrain and the mind finds peace.

More than a homestay, this project creates a place where humans live side by side with landscape. Architecture, nature and humans merge into one, reaching an ideal state of perpetual vitality and coexistence.
