Frissón is a hybrid cultural space in Rome's Pigneto, designed by On Form Studio — Michele Marincola, Ivan Spadaccini, Giovanni Inglese, and Andrea Signorotto.
Conceived as a listening bar, bakery, and cultural platform, the project explores how architecture and interior design can support a contemporary ecosystem centered on music, conviviality, and artistic production.
The name Frisson refers to the subtle shiver that runs through the body when experiencing an intense aesthetic emotion — often triggered by music.
The space translates this idea into a physical environment designed to amplify sensory experience through sound, atmosphere, and spatial composition.
Rather than a conventional venue, Frisson is conceived as a fluid and experimental non-place where different artistic practices coexist.
The program includes independent publishing, visual arts, video installations, and live or curated listening sessions, positioning the venue as a cultural node within the neighborhood.
Music remains the central element of the project. The interior space is organized around a bespoke sound system developed by Crudo Sound, whose handcrafted speakers are rooted in the volcanic landscape of Mount Etna.
Instead of functioning as background audio, the system becomes a spatial infrastructure that shapes how visitors inhabit and perceive the environment.
Alongside the listening experience, Frisson integrates a strong gastronomic dimension. From morning pastries inspired by both classic viennoiserie and Northern European baking traditions to brunch, aperitivo, and evening desserts, the culinary program evolves throughout the day.
The kitchen operates with a bistro-like spontaneity, privileging ingredients sourced from local farms and avoiding standardized supply chains.
Through this hybrid program — part listening bar, part bakery, part cultural hub — Frisson proposes a new model of hospitality where design, music, food, and independent culture converge into a shared aesthetic experience.
