The intervention aimed to transform a former office into a small urban retreat in Lisbon, reconfiguring the space to accommodate multiple uses — a room for yoga, meditation, and alternative therapies, and a kitchen prepared for cooking classes and showcooking sessions.
With a single street facing façade to the the tree-lined rua de Pedrouços, the project emphasizes the entry of natural light and the visual connection with the exterior.
The main room opens toward the street, while the kitchen occupies a more private and functional position inside.
Between these two areas, a volume concentrates the service zones — storage, shower, and restroom — forming a cohesive block that structures the space, conceals existing structural elements, and frees up the remaining area.
Glass partitions and curtains allow the atmosphere to be adjusted according to activities, ensuring flexibility and spatial fluidity.
The potential future conversion of the space into an apartment also guided the project’s design, which from the outset sought an organization capable of adapting to new uses.
Natural materials and neutral tones define the calm atmosphere — oak wood, tiger-skin marble, linen curtains, and mineral paints in soft textures and neutral shades create a sensorial and welcoming environment.
A careful selection of lighting and furniture reinforces the serene character and comfort essential to the activities developed within the space.
