For their latest retail design for the hip golf lifestyle brand, Malbon, the Los Angeles-based 22RE approached the design of the Malbon Miami boutique from all angles: the aesthetic, functional, and sensational.
Designed to cultivate a tranquil atmosphere, the new store is a grounded escape from the city, calming and cohesive. Ultimately, 22RE's design is intended to reflect the spiritual appeal of golf.
The center of the space features a meticulously installed pattern of handmade Mexican tiles that expands outwards, marking an anchor both physically and energetically.
The monochromatic square archways and custom Stucco walls mimic Miami's coral rocks.
And the coloring refers to the serenity of the natural world, which is juxtaposed by industrial stainless steel accents and an open aluminum cell grid ceiling.
As with all 22RE projects, custom furniture and fixtures are featured throughout, notably a set of 22RE designed stainless steel benches sitting in the store's center.
Geometric and heavy, the seating is grounding and contrasts the levity introduced by the space's coloring.
The benches are also reflective of Malbon's modernized approach to designing products for the timeless sport of golf. In addition, 22RE designed custom door knobs, reminiscent of those designed for the gold brand's Pebble Beach boutique.
