‘ROO,’ B.I and a concept, started from 3 vocabularies as ‘curved eave lines’ of traditional Korean housing(Hanok), ‘many-storied building,’ and ‘craft beer.’

They reinterpreted aesthetics of curved-line in curved eave lines of Hanok that resemble graceful shape of Korea and expanded space under the eaves from modern point of view.

Used curvy roofline and repetitive curves of beer suds as design vocabularies and applied them on the whole pattern of interior space, and areas of total 5 level are connected with an existing attic and have different functions.

Considered and used small design elements of traditional Korean house and rafter in space composition to maintain the style and grace of traditional Hanok as much as possible, and reproduced existing flat stones into the stepping stone of central pathway.

The very first Hanok was restored into a concept of new foundation stone by using modern materials as steel and beam because the condition was too worn out.

Attic space was restored as it was to create elaborate and warm space.

Hanok, the Korean traditional architecture, connotes ‘the artisan spirit.’

This is a product of maturity created through years of self-discipline and repetition. ‘Craft beer’ is also expected to deliver elaborate taste and impression to the public based on the handicraft spirit.
