Crone recently relocated the head office from its Kent Street home of some 25 years to a dramatic, double-height space at 680 George Street – a building designed by Crone in 2005.
Crone recognised the potential for this level 18 space, originally designated to accommodate an indoor lap pool and fitness centre.
For over 10 years the space housed a commercial mailroom and storage faciliies that were stripped back to reveal striking industrial features of exposed ducting and service pipes that lend to the New York loft-style feel.
Finely-tuned timber joinery and glass were introduced into the impressive double-height space to transform it into a contemporary open-plan office, flooded with natural light and offering an urban outlook over the CBD.
