The architect chose to emphasize the main building elements for their spatial and natural light quality.

The next step was to place objects such as tables, the main service counter, shelving units and light fixtures as coexisting elements in an open space.

The contemporary intervention blends with the original building through the choice of material and details.

The horizontal Douglas Fir beams of the main service counter interact with the existing column grid. The hanging light fixtures act as a second grid within the columns. The lightness and location of steel elements contribute to the global feeling of this open space.
