Text description provided by architect.

In a narrow but deeply stretched-out parcel in historic Bruges a new use was given to a property which had been vacant for about ten years.

Immo Dewaele bought the property to house its office to service the real estate market in Bruges.

The building, originally designed by Stéphane Beel, has been largely left untouched.

The interior was completely renovated so that the closed banking function was converted to an inviting interior with maximum accessibility and openness.

To this end the existing different levels were removed. A new vertical circulation and an intermediate floor were added, the ventilation and technology was upgraded to contemporary standards.

On the top floor the landscape office with arched roof was maintained, a span cloth ceiling provides a refreshing touch.

The sightlines and views which were already present in the interior design are mainly strengthened by the transparent glazing.

The crimson desk alongside the wall guides these sightlines and enhances the feeling of spaciousness. The ground floor also houses 2 consultation rooms and a management meeting room.

The basic colours white and grey are mainly defined by the marbled floor, which was also used for the original stairs.

The striking light lines which run from the walls into the ceiling are the finishing touch to the interior.
